Jessica J. Great for my students who need modified writing in 5th
This sentence writing intervention walks students through writing over 150 sentences about community helpers. It is filled with prompts, sentence starters, word banks, editing checklist, progress report statements, paper & more! This no prep curriculum makes it easy to teach writing full sentences in kindergarten, 1st grade, ESL, and special education groups.
Writing a sentence a day will give you 5 months of practice and when finished you’ll have 20 mini-reports about the jobs and careers students encounter in their communities. It’s an interesting and practical way to teach informative writing and social studies at the same time!
If you have an older student writing at a kindergarten or 1st grade level, the prompts in this workbook are appropriate for any age!

When my school adopted Writing Workshop, my special education students were overwhelmed. They needed lots of support to reduce their cognitive load and break tasks down into manageable steps. I spent many hours adapting writing tasks to their individual levels. My students stopped avoiding writing and started to feel successful and confident. In fact, general ed teachers noticed and asked to use my resources with their struggling students, too. I’m happy to share my work with you in the hopes it will lighten your workload and make writing time more enjoyable and stress-free for everyone.
I strive for 5 stars. If something is amiss, please contact me before leaving a review. I'll do my best to make it right.
I appreciate your support and feedback!
