- No, there is no prescribed sequence. You can order units to match what is being taught in your general ed curriculum.
- All prompts are evergreen. They can be used at any time during the school year. (They are not tied to certain months or holidays.)
Background:
When my school adopted Writing Workshop, my special education students were overwhelmed. They needed lots of support to reduce their cognitive load and break tasks down into manageable steps. I spent many hours adapting writing tasks to their individual levels. My students went from avoiding writing to feeling successful and confident.
